The Dell 1100 printer is a laser printer that aims mostly to home users. Its price is quite reasonable and affordable and its name is always synonymous to quality and dependability, and that includes the Dell 1100 toner. Most of the users appreciated Dell's move to drop the prices below $100. Especially since the printer comes with a full one year warranty, the combination of features seems even more attractive and inviting.

The Dell 1100 Printer is one of the most popular laser monochrome printers available in the market today. The main reason is, of course, its very affordable price; not many printers of less than $100 perform that well and it seems that customers appreciate that a lot. A laser printer for home use, packed with several good features and an easy to navigate through menu, is more than enough for an average user, or even for internal business use.

All monochrome printers though tend to show some small breaks in lines and that is something that the Dell 1100 cannot skip either; however the drawback is minor, as the break up appears in very thin lines. The output is more than satisfying when for personal use.

When it comes to photos and images, Dell 1100 performs well, as expected. The pictures are a little better than in newspaper quality; since the printer aims for home users, the result is quite good. Even if you use it for internal business purposes, the printer can produce satisfying pictures for small newsletters and in office presentations. If looking for high quality pictures then you should probably opt for a color laser printer, since monochromes cannot perform that good.

Especially if you compare it with similar style printers, such as the HP 1020, you will see that its quality is definitely better and improved. The only drawback you can find in the Dell 1100 printer is that its input tray is always open, thus, it's exposed to dust.

The Dell 1100 has a 600x600 dpi resolution and runs on 150MHz processor which definitely bests the processor of other Dell printers of the same league. Its internal memory is just 2MB, which means that you cannot print something bigger than regular texts or small graphics; however this is more or less the demands of the average home user. The Dell 1100 Printer promises to produce quality texts and images for personal use, and that is what it does.

The Printer prints at 600x600 dpi; the result is very clear and all shades of black seem to appear smooth and well defined. The only problem you might encounter is that the small internal memory, of 2 MB, doesn't allow you to print some images in full resolution. You might need to scale down the picture if it is big, something that affects obviously the quality of the original image. If the image is small though, you will be more than satisfied.
